2024 G.D. Vajra Rosabella Vino Rosato

Variety: Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto

The Rosabella Rosato is made in the "saignée" method: Saignée is a French term that means “to bleed.” In terms of winemaking, that's a reference to the act of “bleeding off” juice from a tank of red grape juice that is just beginning to ferment, before the juice has fully extracted the color and tannins from the grape skins (that happens later, during maceration). The Saignée method serves two purposes: Not only is it used to produce rosé wine, but it also serves to concentrate the remaining juice that is left behind, which is made into red wine. The 2024 G.D Vajra Rosabella Rosato is crafted from 90% nebbiolo, with the remaining 10% dolcetto and barbera. This peach-pink beauty has aromas of orange blossoms, blood oranges, peaches, fresh strawberries, and subtle hints of baking spices that follow on the palate.
