A dark and leviathan nose, brimming with classic Cabernet characteristics. Aromas of crushed cherry and currant continue with blackberry and pepper, creating a midnight bouquet with tobacco, licorice, and vanilla
A concentrated and structured wine on the palate. Full-bodied, lively, and fruit-forward. The prominent dark fruit aromas (cherry, black currant, blackberry) carry through, providing a core of juicy and ripe fruit flavors.
Union Sacré was founded by two friends, Xavier Arnaudin and Philip Muzyczka. They focus on single-vineyard, single varietal wines, resulting in smaller production and a focus on quality. Their philosophy centers around crafting wines for shared experiences and bringing people together. “Union Sacré” itself references a historical moment of unity during WWI when the French and Germans had to forget their differences due to a greater threat. They have a unique approach to winemaking, drawing inspiration from the Alsace region of France while being firmly rooted in California.
Hard cheeses: Cheddar, Gouda, or Gruyère complement the wine's ripe tannins and spice notes. Red meats, grilled or roasted beefs, and other hearty dishes like duck confit are a classic route with flavors that can stand up well to the wine’s structure. Ultimately, the best pairing is a matter of personal preference. Don't hesitate to experiment and find what you enjoy most!
