2023 Griesbauerhof St. Magdalener Classico

On the palate, the St. Magdalener Classico from Griesbauerhof opens wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly silky texture. From the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region the St. Magdalener ultimately delights with its remarkable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the sandy soils.

Schiava Taste Profile

Schiava is a light-bodied red wine (like Pinot Noir) with aromas of cotton candy, strawberry, bubblegum, and lemonhead candy. The wine is delicate and light in color. On the palate, the flavors are quite subtle and producers in Alto Adige will often make a dry style as to not overwhelm the palate with sweetness, which is already provided by the aromas. The alcohol levels are slightly lighter (~12% ABV) as the grape grows predominantly in a cooler climate.
